MUQQASHAR - Skinned white lentils

MUQQASHAR -   مقّششر   - MAASH KI DAAL

Soak overnight:
       1/2 KILO (1.1 LBS) SKINNED WHITE LENTILS    دھلی ہوئی ماش کی دال
in    2-3 CUPS OF WATER :

add:
       12 WHOLE RED PEPPERS
       SALT in the
       SOAKING LENTILS
and cook until water boils. Careful not to mush up the lentils, each lentil 
should be on its own but soft. When that happens then drain the remaining water.
Now temper    تڑکا : 
       CHOPPED ONIONS in
       2-3 TABLESPOONS OF CLARIFIED BUTTER
and strew it over the daal and add:
       2 PIECES OF 1" LONG GINGER cut long and thin
       SALT if needed.

Garnish with chopped MINT LEAVES, chopped GREEN CHILLIS and 
julienned GINGER.
