KYOTI DAAL - Pigeon peas and Black gram

KYOTI DAAL کیوٹی دال

Wash:
       1/2 CUP PIGEON PEA (SPLIT RED GRAM)    ارہر دال
       LESS THAN 1/2 CUP BLACK GRAM   ارد دال                        
 or  LESS THAN 1/2 CUP WHITE UN-SKINNED LENTILS
mix and add in:
       3 CUPS WATER
       2-3 WHOLE RED CHILLI    کھڑی لال مرچ
       SALT to taste
Cook until daal turns soft, then mash it and add:
       WATER
       1" GINGER  julienned
       GREEN CHILLI  chopped
       1 TEASPOON WHOLE WHITE CUMIN dry fried and crushed by hand
continue cooking until its done.

Garnish with tempered PEARL ONIONS   پیاز کالی  in CLARIFIED BUTTER  گھی
